You did it again, another great commercial. The "WORK" part is initially finding people like you. Once that hurdle is overcome, the rest is another 4 letter word "FUNN" O.K. but it's the only way it worked.
    Thanks again

And once again sound advice of smart man.
Every word is so true but how you can convince a newbie to stop looking for an easy money? It seems like they want to fail... they are looking to fail themselves...

The only thing that worries them is - a Money.
Education never was a cheap thing.
How they expect to learn and succeed without purchasing not even one valuable course to educate themselves... without spending some money?

  3. Verniel Cutar Says:

I love what you said here Joel! My site is pulling hundreds of dollars every week...after few years of trial and error, Im finally getting the hang of this!

Your tips have been a great help too. So thanks. :-)

  4. Joshua Harris Says:

    Well said, Joel!

Too many people are lured into the IM dream by the potential to make good money from it... without any effort.

Indeed, that potential is very much there. But that potential requires work, and I often suspect that most of the people approaching the IM sphere do so in a context of laziness.

And that's why most of them fail. And very quickly, too.

It's funny to hear Frank Kern go on about how lazy he is, but hey... he now is in a position to BE lazy. He's established himself, and has his residual streams of passive income. He has money, he is a go-to figure, and he will never go hungry.

Yet, that laziness (which I think he overplays) may mislead newbies into thinking that they can do the same.

    Uhm, no. Not yet, anyway.

Frank's success was built on 3 of those nasty 4-letter words: WORK, TIME, HEAD. (oh my, two more 4-letter words?? Yikes!)

He's worked, he's invested time, and he's used his head; this has gotten him to where he is today.

So I laugh when I see people looking for an easy way to become John Reese, or Andrew Fox, or Mike Filsaime, or Rich Schefren, or Armand Morin, or Brad Fallon, or Jeff Walker, or Patric Chan, or Seth Godin, or yourself, or.... I could go on and on.

The list above proves that it CAN be done. And very successfully, too.

Not being one for dishing out undue sympathy, I cringe when people try to rationalise their failures by saying, "But these guys pioneered the IM movement. When they started, they had no competition, and some of them have over 15 years' experience!"

Ah, yes.... experience. That's what you get when you fail in reaching your objective. Experience. And it's sometimes worth a heck of a lot more than the actual success itself, because it becomes the stepping stone for even greater success later.

But in order to gain experience, you have to do the work... and learn from it.

Secondly, you have to realise that they started at a time when elements such as Broadband, Autoresponders, Web 2.0, AdSense and AdWords, previous testing results, and most importantly, a general scarcity of knowledge with regard to HOW to build an IM business were lacking.

They learned. But today, you can drammatically cut that learning time to a fraction of what theirs was. Joel mentioned a few of very good courses, and there countless more tools and cutting edge applications that offset competition worries.

(Which I, for one, do not contend with because I barely have enough time for me, let alone others. Besides, most people sadly won't do anything anyway. And then they wonder how people like Anik Singal "got so lucky")

Knowledge is power, and actioning the application of tha power translates into results. A Ferrari is a powerful car, but if you're not driving it, that power is as good as naught.

Let's face the truth... there are no silver bullets, ladies and gentlemen. And I am glad to be the one to break it to you.

Now, some people may even have that initial impetus that suffices to get them going, but if they keep looking for the "easy" way to success, they will not be able to sustain their business, and grow it.

Did I say business? Yes, anything you do for a compensation is a business, be it large or small. And a business is, primarily, work.

So to all the easygoers, I would advise you to save your money, time, and your head.

IM is a business, and you will have to work at it, as with any business. Just because the Internet has made doing business much more cost-effective and efficient does NOT mean that success happens without continued action and a vision.

Concluding, I remember the quote of one entrepreneur, who's name I forget, but it says it all:

"I work only when I feel like it, and I make DAMN sure I feel like it every morning when I get up!".

  5. Arthur Cundy Says:

    Great Stuff Joel,

I agree; there's always some level of work involved. But if you get the right knowledge, and use the right techniques you will be working towards really making money online. Instead of wasting time and energy of stuff that doesn't really work.

    Best,

  6. TC Says:

Au contraire, Joel. There is an easy button for quickly making money online.

Your video, though useful for those who wish to market online, did not answer the question you raise: "What is the Fastest Way to Make Money Online?"

The answer lies in one who fathoms what will become of the greatest speculative credit bubble in history, and who applies this understanding to the trade of leveraged financial instruments whose risk is limited.

  7. kannan Says:

    Hi Joel,

There is no easy button in IM.It requires lot of education, training which is a hard truth.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi there!

Joel, I am appreciative of your informative sites including your videos and tips. I also appreciate your delve into your quips about life and your experiences. Todays video talked about Internet marketing tools that, well frankly and unfortunately, are out of my budget range. Until I can afford these tools... can you or maybe your readers... recommend other sources that might get me started in the right direction - for instance a web site or a published book?

Thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge!

  14. Christopher Raine Says:

    Hi Joel

Firstly, I've never been against the concept of work. However for any one coming on-line some sites they may visit do give the impression that wealth is just around the corner.
When this is not achieved easily it is easy to get caught in moving from one program to another, what I have learn't quite simply is that there are no easy answers and would agree that the best thing any one new to the internet can do is get themselves an education!
After this hard work, patience and focus are required, not unlike anything else in life the internet won't give you wealth unless you work for it and then the potential is endless.

    Thanks for a great video

    Chris

    Hi Joel,

Even if I still have many problems to build traffic I'm very pleased to hear again that there is no easy button to push.
I believe every effort should be made to build a successful business.

So that when you succeed you feel happy & rewarded.
I'm at least as interested by creating my own job than feeling happy after so many efforts.

I must go I have still 210 pages left to read of your ebook Adsense-Secrets_v4.
    ;o)

    See you,
    Bluebeetle(one) aka Joel.
